Consider This Sentence
The following sentence occurs in The London Free Press on Apple News. “A man London police said was ‘erroneously released’ from custody following a court appearance in connection with a charge of attempted murder has been re-arrested, officals announced Saturday night.”
Clumsy. The mention of the court appearance is unnecessary. The final attribution is also unnecessary. I will add some details found later in the article.
My rewrite: “A London man charged with attempted murder was apprehended in Chatham on Saturday. Leblanc Ashe was ‘erroneously released’ from the Elgin-Middlesex Detention Center on Thursday.”
