Consider This Sentence
The following sentence occurs in The National Post on Apple News. “Canada’s largest independent brewery (employing 300 people and distributing within Canada, the U.S. and 15 other countries) is aiming this marketing initiative at helping Canadians navigate the political anxiety of the next four years, or, in short, getting through Donald Trump’s term as president. ”
The sentence refers to, Moosehead Brewery’s, “Presidential Pack,” which contains a can of beer for every day of the Trump presidency.
The description of the size and distribution of the brewery is irrelevant. The article is an enthusiastic press release disguised as news.
My rewrite: “With this tongue-in-cheek promotion, Moosehead aims to exploit the anxiety of Canadians during Trump’s second term.”
